Sagarmatha Jalabidhyut Company Limited (SMJC) has announced the official recommencement of electricity production at its 9.6 MW Super Madi A Hydropower Project starting from Mangsir 03, 2082.
The company reported that the project had been inactive since Ashwin 18, 2082, due to devastating flooding that inflicted severe damage on the infrastructure of the project. The flood necessitated a total suspension of power generation as vital components of the powerhouse and switchyard were compromised.
The company indicated that comprehensive reconstruction, repair, and testing of the electrical apparatus installed in the powerhouse and switchyard have now been successfully accomplished. With these tasks completed, the project has reinstated its production capabilities and resumed electricity generation.
