In partnership with UNDP Nepal, the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has launched a complimentary online training program named ‘Travel Specialist – Basic Level’ aimed at enhancing the expertise and understanding of professionals in the tourism sector.
This initiative was inaugurated by Tourism Minister Bedu Prasad Pandey during the Himalayan Travel Mart held in Kathmandu. It is designed for guides, travel representatives, tour operators, trekking firms, and tourism scholars, with the objective of improving service standards and fostering sustainable and inclusive tourism practices.
Crafted under NTB’s Sustainable Tourism Project, the course encompasses essential aspects of Nepal’s tourism offerings, eco-friendly practices, and customer service strategies. Aligned with the government’s ‘Tourism Decade’ vision, this program plans to educate 5,000 individuals and generate 2,500 job opportunities by 2028, particularly focusing on empowering women and marginalized groups.
