The costs of oil products in Nepal have been modified, showing a variety of changes across different fuel types.
As per the Nepal Oil Corporation, the price of gasoline has seen a reduction of Rs. 2 per liter, whereas the rates for diesel and kerosene have dropped by Rs. 12 per liter. Following the new pricing structure, gasoline is now listed at Rs. 214.50 per liter, while diesel and kerosene stand at Rs. 222.50 per liter in primary category zones.
Conversely, the cost of cooking gas (LPG) has surged considerably. The LPG rate has increased by Rs. 150 per cylinder, elevating the new price to Rs. 2,160 per cylinder (14.2 kg) and Rs. 1,080 for a half-filled cylinder (7.1 kg).
Likewise, the prices for aviation fuel have risen. Domestic aviation fuel has climbed by Rs. 7 per liter, and for international flights (leaving Kathmandu), the rate has gone up by USD 46 per kiloliter.
The NOC attributed the recent changes to the persisting turmoil in West Asia, elaborating that the ongoing discord has led to a steady increase in global oil prices, rendering them more susceptible to fluctuations. The corporation has anticipated a staggering loss of Rs. 1.81 billion within the ensuing 15 days due to this price alteration.
