IPO Issue of Yambaling Hydropower Limited from Today

Yambaling Hydropower Limited has officially launched its Initial Public Offering (IPO) available to the public starting from 16th Baishakh, 2083, presenting 17,43,000 shares at a nominal value of Rs. 100 per share. The IPO was initially intended to conclude on 22nd Baishakh, 2083, with an option to extend the closing date to 30th Baishakh, 2083 if it does not receive adequate subscriptions.

The total capital of the firm is Rs. 70 Crores. Of this amount, 40%, which equals 28,00,000 unit shares, will be made available to the public. Out of the overall issuance, 10%, translating to 7,00,000 unit shares valued at Rs. 7 Crores, has been designated for locals impacted by the project in Sindhupalchok District. The remaining 30% of the issued capital, corresponding to 21,00,000 unit shares, will be offered to the broader public.

From this general public offering, 10% of the 21,00,000 units, amounting to 2,10,000 units, have been allocated to Nepalese citizens residing abroad. Additionally, 2% of the public offering, equating to 42,000 units, are reserved for the company’s employees, while 5% of the total shares offered, which is 1,05,000 units, are specifically set aside for mutual funds. The surplus of 17,43,000 units will be accessible to the general public starting today.

Muktinath Capital Limited has been designated as the issue manager for this public offering. Applications can be made for a minimum of 10 units and a maximum limit of 21,000 units.

CARE Ratings Nepal Limited (CRNL) has reaffirmed the issuer rating of CARE-NP BB- (Is) for Yambaling Hydropower Limited (YHL). In Nepal, issuers with this rating are regarded as carrying a moderate risk of defaulting on their financial obligations in a timely manner.

Founded in 2007 and transitioned into a public entity in 2021, Yambaling Hydropower Limited (YHL) operates the 7.27 MW run-of-river Yambaling Khola Hydropower Project in Sindhupalchowk, Nepal, which commenced commercial operations on February 20, 2024, under a BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, Transfer) framework.
