The Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO), Department of Immigration (DOI), and Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) have enabled international card payments in the Government of Nepal’s Revenue Management Information System (RMIS). This integration allows international tourists to pay for Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA/e-visa) and visa-on-arrival services using multiple international cards through the DOI’s online portal and Tribhuvan International Airport.

The initiative, proclaimed by Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal, aims to streamline online visa applications, improve service delivery, and broaden e-payments for government revenue collection. As part of the National Payment Switch, the system is anticipated to extend to other governmental departments, further enhancing digital transactions. In FY 2081/82, NCHL processed NRs. 1,219 billion in government expenditures and NRs. 366 billion in revenue-related transactions.
